How do you achieve them?

When I look at a brand like Apple.

And ask: why do they succeed?

Where do they set their focus?

I can’t help but feel.

That they follow nature’s lead.

A mixture of two critical ideas.

Incredible utility.

Incredible elegance.

There is nothing unnecessary.

And there is a difference between “being useful” and complete utility.

And there is a difference between “being attractive” and total elegance.

Decisions must be made.

And those are hard decisions.

But when I look around.

At trees.

At bugs.

At the symbiotic nature of everything around me.

And its beauty.

I look for that connection.

Between what we each do every day.

And utility.

And elegance.

And the answer always lies in simplicity.

But simplicity is not easy to achieve.

Simplicty is much harder than complexity.

As we grow.

As we change.

As we each find ways to better serve readers and customers.

I hope that we find these simple solutions.

That offer great utility.

In an elegant manner.

And when I look around.

At the people in my life.

At at the businesses I work with.

At the communities I am a part of.

I see the complexity.

Always hoping to find.

The simplicity within.

Because within that simplicity.

Is opportunity.

And smiles waiting to happen.
