Hi Dan,
Sneak Peek at Retrevo’s new “Daily Deals” Service
Thank you for checking out Retrevo.com. Retrevo will be announcing a new “Daily Deals” service that provides a one-stop, meta-search for finding the best web-only deals on consumer electronics products/gadgets. The Daily Deals portion of the site hasn’t launched yet, however, you can preview it at http://alpha.retrevo.com. Just plug in your favorite gadget in the search bar and click on “daily deals” on the left hand side. I invite you to check it out and let us know what you think. Thanks!
Best,
Lori

I thought you might be interested in taking a look a the Capitol Hill Broadcasting Network. www.chbn.com.
It’s basically a cross between C-SPAN and You Tube.
Your blog is fantastic! It’s great to see the fearless at work.
Ah-ha. Found you…
Dan,
Love the blog. Print is dead. Long live print. I read a blog the other day by a famous technologist (and parent) who says he’s not even letting his kids touch those inky, dirty newspapers, since they won’t be around in a few years. Hmm.
Most of us still like to see the touch of an editors hand in finding good stories - as opposed to journalism via Digg or RSS feed. In the next few years I think we’re going to be seeing a lot of great tools to facilitate that process.
Keep on writing.
Hello! Good Site! Thanks you! lvmkyhulsmc
Great work Dan! I just discovered your blog through a Google feed.
We are starting to work with a lot of publishers and independent authors - helping them monetize content and build a direct relationship with their readers. You have my email address - would be great to connect and hear your thoughts about Near-Time (www.near-time.com)

[…] Dan Blank has written a great post on how he has changed the way he thinks about magazines. It seems that Dan has quite an obsession (his word) with stereo equipment, and in the past he would pour over industry and trade magazines and spend time in local audio shops. Today he finds that he spends the majority of his time discussing his hobby online, and has all but abandoned magazines in particular. […]
Great Blog Dan - spread the word !!!

hooeey is targeted at internet users who want to keep a track of their history without duplicating effort. It also provides a safe & universal platform for the entire browsing experience and saves time by keeping a tab on the browsing history from any computer. hooeey delinks the browser history from the browser. Additionally, hooeey adds a social networking layer, allowing one to share specific sites with others, both on the hooeey network, and other social bookmarking services. hooeey services can be accessed for free at www.hooeey.com.
“The idea behind hooeey is that Internet users can re-use their browsing history in a productive manner–to reduce time spent in searching for previously visited web pages, to easily share interesting web pages with others and to use the provided dashboard to manage their browsing time more efficiently. hooeey is focused on saving time & effort of the users by leveraging IT tools & a different approach that combines seamless web hop recording with complete transparency and user control.” said Mr. Rajeev Purnaiya, Founder & CEO of hooeey.
hooeey allows the users to track all their browsing history from any search engine. hooeey also has another advantage on browser’s history files because it works on both platforms, like Internet Explorer and Firefox. Some of the distinctive features of hooeey include:
Records web hops automatically
Comment and tag interesting sites while a user is online or offline
· Create a contact list and send links to friends
· Self- determinable folders which help to structure links
To keep a track of all the data, hooeey has a built-in analytics service which will break down browsing habits with various helpful charts and graphs. Thereafter one can hand pick any sites for tagging and sharing. The WebTour feature turns the selected links into slide shows for viewing.
Commenting on users’ privacy, Mr. Purnaiya added, “Our users’ privacy is of paramount importance to us. Our approach is based on complete transparency and the user is always in control. We have added some specific tools & features especially to make the user feel at ease.”
