I don't own a DVR yet, partly because there aren't enough shows I enjoy enough to justify such a purchase (I'm in Europe). On the other hand, I'd probably watch a lot more TV if I could record shows during the week and watch them whenever I want.
My wife and I waste quite some time watching junk, just because there's nothing decent on at the time we want to watch TV, so I'm looking forward to either more on demand TV, or affordable systems which can record tons of shows with easy storage management.
