Dan, you've hit the nail squarely on the head. Blogging success is indeed all about passion. I often admit that I was originally pressured to start blogging in order to secure a contract with an author I was trying to sign. That was 2 years ago. The first 6 months of blogging were a bit painful as nobody was tuning in. Two years later and I'm addicted. Why? It didn't take long for me to become fanatical and extremely passionate about it. I've also found that the best blogs that I tend to read regularly are obviously written by bloggers who are highly passionate about their subject. I couldn't agree more with you. And given the time investment required for "successful blogging", whatever that phrase may mean to anyone, the question "am I really passionate about this topic?" really needs to be answered before diving in.
